Ammoudara 

Ammoudara is located on the 6 kms west of Heraklion city centre on the north coast and is 9 kms from the airport. Ammoudara belongs to the municipality of Gazi. The area was developed as a tourism region and many luxury hotels are situated here. Ammoudara beach is a 7 km long sandy beach. Ammoudara hotels Moevenpick Resort and Agapi Beach Resort have been awarded Blue Flags*. 

Ammoudara has become a popular base for the university students of Heraklion.  As the low season for tourists coincides with the academic season, students are able to find a selection of reasonably priced furnished apartments. Bars and restaurants abound. “Technopolis”, a 7000m sq complex comprised of five cinemas, an outdoor theatre, the ‘Piazza’ bar/cafeteria, the ‘Food & Grill’ restaurant, two bars, an internet café, shops and a kiosk is also located in Ammoudara within walking distance of the MIC campus. Given the close proximity to Heraklion center there is no end to the activities and services available to our students.
