Declaring an Area of Specialization
Students pursuing a full academic program at MIC must select an area of specialization by the end of their second semester at MIC. An area of speciialization consists of a series of courses that provides a coherent academic framework. Students thus obtain both a broad acquaintance of a field of knowledge and an in-depth understanding of some of its particular aspects.
A student may request a change in his/her declared area of specialization through the Office of the Academic Dean. It is imperative that students initiate the change of major petition prior to registration for the upcoming semester.
Change of area of specialization forms are available at the Office of the Registrar. After completion of the change of area of specialization process, students must review their complete degree program and its requirements with the Academic Dean.
