Attendance Policy

Regular attendance and active participation in class are essential parts of the academic process. Students must attend each class session unless they have a compelling reason for being absent. Students who exceed the limit of two unexcused absences in a course, receive an ‘F’ (Fail) grade on their transcript and this failing grade of 0.00 is calculated into their Cumulative Index (CI). If a student is absent from classes for more than two days due to illness, s/he must produce a doctor’s certificate from a public hospital or public health center  indicating his/her inability to attend classes, and submit it to the Registrar.  Students who arrive late for class may be denied access to the classroom by the instructor and if the absence is repeated more than three times they may receive an ‘F’ grade in the course. Repeat offences will also be reported to the Academic Dean for appropriate action.
